James seems to have had a very important role in running the church from very early on in Jerusalem but it's a role that's become forgotten in later Christian tradition. Can we understand the Thomas traditions related to Judea, Syria, and India with the help of canonical, extra-canonical, and traditio-historical documents? Merging the supernatural "god" stories of Mithra and Krishna with British Culdean beliefs effectively joined the orations of Eastern and Western presbyters together "to form a new universal belief" (ibid.).

This decree does not affirm even implicitly that every use of the name "Son of God" in the Gospels means true and natural Sonship of God. You cannot chew what you have placed in your mouth! The solution I would suggest at this stage of my understanding is that the term “book” or “book of life” does not have a uniform meaning in Scripture. The rest of the major manuscripts have it. Some were not getting their food when it was passed out.

But they were also very busy helping people. The circumstances under which the Apostle must have written the Epistle to the Ephesians seem to account for the development of the doctrine and the remarkable change of style. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried. Reading snips off the grass, but meditation chews the cud! It is not a comprehensive, 'systematic' theology of the Old Testament, but, rather, a series of theological explorations. What common favours redound from Christ to all mankind?

Promise of redemption is confined to the people of Israel. The “peer” in “peer review” is used in a very specific sense: it is someone who has recognized expertise in the subject. This understanding has had great influence on Western theology and on the way many Christians even today understand "eternity" and "eternal life" when they encounter them in the Bible. Metaxas does a fabulous job of drawing the reader into Bonhoeffer's heart and mind as he wrestled with the ecclesial conflicts that led him to advocate establishing the Confessing Church, and as he grappled with the grave moral dilemmas that eventually compelled him to become a spy and co-conspirator in the plot to assassinate Hitler!

The Epistle to the Romans reveals that God grants eternal life "to those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor, and immortality" ( 2:7 ). The witness of tradition to the fact of the union of the two natures in the one Person of Jesus is clear not only from the symbols or creeds in use before the condemnation of Nestorius, but also from the words of the ante-Nicaean Fathers. To the first group belong a number of papyrus fragments, the most important being POx. 840, which reports a discussion in the Temple court between Jesus and a “Pharisaic chief priest” named Levi, and P Egerton 2, which is of special interest because it is dated before a.d. 150 and shows Johannine elements.

Claiming #IAMChoosingLove, as simple as it sounds, is powerful when used with the intent of choosing love over fear or hate which stem primarily from judgment. “Judge not that you may not be judged.” Can you imagine a world where everyone is choosing love? This argument sounds plausible, and it may be applicable to some religions. They helped me to develop my understanding of resources in the field of Thomas studies. It was a red flag of warning saying, "Watch out now. Christ was rejected and crucified (Matt. 26:3-5; 27:1; 21:33-44; 23:31ff; Jn. 5:16ff; 7:1, 30, 45; 8:40). She is always at the forefront on just about any issue of the Christian faith. Apollonius's personal attendant, Damis, an Assyrian scribe, is Demis in the New Testament (2 Tim. 4:10). These books commonly contain an account of the prophet's call to his distinctive ministry, with a record of his oracles set in a narrative framework, but no mention of the prophet's death.

Pavements, trees, radios, tons! lifting the city to Heaven which exists and is everywhere about us! How much we want to support our priests who bear the burden of Christ, the burden of the Church and souls! Would you be willing to try it for the next 10 days for at least 5 minutes? Can we have the humility and vulnerability of the Jesus who met Zacchaeus by looking up to and at him? A resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ is the sine qua non (“without which, nothing”) of Christianity (Catholic Encyclopedia, Farley ed., vol. xii, p. 792), confirmed by words attributed to Paul: “If Christ has not been raised, your faith is in vain” (1 Cor. 5:17).

In the "brethren" assemblies, though, the men are encouraged, expected, and given the opportunity to exercise their gifts-there is no one else to do it! We shall see shortly what happened to them. Johnson believed that the point of emphasis here is that "The man must always remember that he exists by woman, and that both are of God." As a pastor, a husband, and a father, what I say about my faith in Jesus, and how I live that out, will affect those whom the Father has given me to shepherd.

It is especially in this sense that we say the grace of the Head flows through the channels of the sacraments of the Church --through the veins of the body of Christ. It's up to you, but you need positive energy to access the various powers - so a sinful man is doomed to be "normal" until he works off his bad karma.
